BARCELONA WIN UEFA SUPER CUP
Pedro
came off the bench to score a winner in extra time, but even that didn't
persuade him to join in the celebrations after the final whistle.
Lionel
Messi whipped two left-footed free-kicks into the top right corner, with
Sevilla stopper Beto a mere spectator on both occasions, to move the Blaugrana into a 16th minute lead,
also becoming the first ever player to score two free-kicks in a UEFA Super Cup
final.
Messi’s
Argentine colleague Ever Banega had given Unai Emery’s side the lead with a
free-kick of his own after just three minutes, but Barcelona’s No.10 responded by raising the stakes.
However,
Unai Emery's men produced a remarkable comeback, with goals from Jose Antonio
Reyes, Kevin Gameiro and Yevhen Konoplyanka taking the tie to extra-time.
