LONDON TEAM OF THE SEASON |
London Team of the Season includes only four of the playing staff
which ended a five-year wait to bring the Premier League Trophy back to
Stamford Bridge.
What is likely to be even more infuriating for both Mourinho and
Chelsea supporters alike is the fact that FIVE of the starting places are taken
up by Arsenal players.
Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal fill two of the back four
births, while Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil all make the cut in
midfield.
SANTI CAZORLA AND CESC FABREGAS |
West Ham United centre half James Tomkins also makes the squad,
which was compiled by the London Evening Standard, keeping out both John Terry
and Gary Cahill, who were mainstays in a Chelsea defence which leaked just 32
goals in the league last term.
There is no place either for midfield enforcer Nemanja Matic.
Thibaut Coitois is also overlooked for the capital team, with his
place between the posts taken by Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris.
