English
soccer star Wayne Rooney reintroduced himself to
the Everton fans in the best way possible on Thursday - by scoring on
his second debut as they beat Gor Mahia 2 - 1.
Rooney, who
left the Toffees 13 years ago for Manchester United, returned on
Thursday for a pre-season friendly against Gor Mahia in Tanzania. The 31-year-old started the game up front for Everton, where he broke the deadlock with a spectacular strike moments before half time.
The goal was immediately cancelled out by Jacques Tuyisenge, who bagged an equaliser for his side with a great headed effort.
Kieran Dowell hit the crossbar from a short free-kick
before moments later, nine minutes from time, he smashed home a left-footed
effort from 25 yards to secure a 2-1 win.

The attacking play was impressive, but the defensive organization also deserves credit. Both teams stayed focused under pressure and showed why preparation, communication, and teamwork are so important in football. Goa Morning Panel Chart
