What
happened to football Clubs Tanzania, especially from Tanga? All the Clubs that
got relegated to the second tier of the Tanzanian football league came from
Tanga in a last day of shocks.
After it was evident that Coastal Unions chances of
escaping the chop was highly unlikely, another Tanga based side Mgambo FC
followed despite holding giants Azam to a 1-1 draw at the Azam complex.
Mgambo’s fruitless draw earned them 28 points and remained at position 14 in
the 16 team league. Sad enough was that they were the third team to get
relegated from the region after Coastal Union and African sports.
African sports lost 2-0 in Mbeya to Mbeya City to
remain on the 15th spot on 26 points just ahead of another Tanga based side
Coastal Union succumbed to a 0-2 home defeat at the hands of Tanzania Prisons.
Simba’s chances of finishing second above Azam also
went in smoke after going down to visiting JKT Ruvu.
