For the second time in three seasons, Barca was bested by a
savvier Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals. The visitors had
masses of possession throughout, but failed to create clear chances as their
slump continued.

Luis Suarez's two goals had given the Catalans a 2-1,
come-from-behind victory in the first leg at home last week. But on Wednesday, Antoine
Griezmann - The Frenchman's 36th-minute header would have been
enough to send through the Madrid side on away goals, but he doubled his tally
from the spot late-on to leave Barca's hope of historic back-to-back trebles in
tatters.
