Dr. Mutasim Jaffer from Sudan has been elected the new Cecafa President for a
period of four years replacing Leodegar Tenga.
Lawrence Mulindwa loses CECAFA Presidential election
Highly
renowned for transforming Uganda’s football, former Federation of Uganda
Football Association (FUFA) president Lawrence Mulindwa yesterday afternoon
lost the CECAFA presidential election.
Mulindwa
lost to Sudan’s Dr. Mutasim Jaffer who won with a count of 6-votes as compared
to his three votes from the total 10-voting nations and Rwanda's Vincent Nzamwita who got one vote whereas Ethiopia's Junedin Basha withdrew from the race at the last minute during an election exercise
conducted yesterday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where the regional football
governing body held its congress.
