English soccer star Wayne Rooney reintroduced himself to the Everton fans in the best way possible on Thursday - by scoring on his second debut as they beat Gor Mahia 2 - 1.

Rooney, who left the Toffees 13 years ago for Manchester United, returned on Thursday for a pre-season friendly against Gor Mahia in Tanzania. The 31-year-old started the game up front for Everton, where he broke the deadlock with a spectacular strike moments before half time.

The goal was immediately cancelled out by Jacques Tuyisenge, who bagged an equaliser for his side with a great headed effort.

Kieran Dowell hit the crossbar from a short free-kick before moments later, nine minutes from time, he smashed home a left-footed effort from 25 yards to secure a 2-1 win.
