Former Queens Park Rangers loanee Mauricio Isla in less than 10 minutes remaining send Chile into the last four, they were given a huge helping hand by Uruguay's shameful indiscipline.

The game turned against Uruguay when Cavani was sent off in the 63rd minute for lashing out at Jara, earning a second yellow after getting booked in the first half for venting his spleen at the assistant referee after conceding a foul against Arturo Vidal.

Defender Jorge Fucile was also sent off for Uruguay in the 90th minute for a brutal tackle on Alexis Sanchez and the game had to be stopped for several minutes as brawls broke out all over the pitch, with Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez also seeing red.
